The Biblical Concept of the Family ~ BSTH231
A fundamental examination of the family and its role in society will be undertaken from a Biblical perspective. The "traditional" family as well as various "alternative" models of the family will be discussed and analyzed from secular as well as biblical sources. The underlying thesis of the course is that society as a whole depends heavily on the family unit as a sociological foundation and is significantly impacted when the family is fragmented or distorted. Attention will also be given to the biblical guidelines for family living. Recommended prerequisites: BSTH 111, BSTH 112, BSTH 121, BSTH 122. 3 hours.
