The Beginnings to the Reformation 

The roots of Christianity are traced from the earliest churches of the New Testament to the pivotal events of the Protestant Reformation in Europe in the sixteenth century. The existence of nonconformist movements are paralleled with the evolution of state churches in both the Papal and Orthodox traditions during Medieval times.
