This course is an analytical study of literature suitable for children. Emphasis is placed on subject matter, style, interpretation, and methods of illustration. It affords the opportunity to read widely from the best in children's literature as well as to study the authors and illustrators. Consideration will also be given to motivating children's interest in literature. Literature-based thematic units will also be presented.
