Literature of the Ancient World ~ LITR221

This course is an analysis of various writings of a number of Near Eastern cultures during the pre-Christian era, as well as a brief examination of some aspects of Eastern philosophy from the same time. Topical areas include legal, ethical, religious, historical, cultural, wisdom, poetic, and ritualistic beliefs that early writers living in these areas recoded. Comparisons from biblical and other historic texts will be drawn.
