The Financial Aid Process
Step 1 – Each student must complete a FAFSA - http://www.fafsa.ed.gov Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will determine your eligibility for the Federal Pell Grant, Guaranteed Stafford Loans, selected state grants, and various scholarships. Applications can be submitted as early as January 1st of the year of Attendance. Some grants are given only to applicants who apply early, so it is best to complete the FAFSA as early as possible. Boston Baptist College’s OPEID number is 03248300. This number will be needed in order to complete the FAFSA.
Step 2 – Each student must complete a VFAO Entrance Interview - https://boston.vfao.com The VFAO Entrance Interview enters information into a database that can be accessed by our Financial Aid Office. Once the interview is locked, you will be able to view your preliminary financial aid package. Please note that these figures may be adjusted once your information is processed. In order to complete the VFAO Entrance Interview, you will need your EFC (Expected Family Contribution), which is generated in step 1, the FAFSA.
Step 3 – Master Promissory Note - http://www.salliemae.com The Master Promissory Note (MPN) for Stafford Student Loans is an agreement between the borrower, the lender, and the school. This agreement authorizes the school to credit the loan funds to the student's account. The promissory note is simply your promise to repay the loan under the terms detailed within it.
