Scholarships

Baptist Leaders Scholarship

Each student at Boston Baptist College becomes eligible to receive the Baptist Leadership Scholarship. Boston Baptist College receives financial assistance from missions minded Baptist Bible Fellowship churches throughout the United States. Due to the regular monthly support of these churches, the amount charged for tuition and fees is dramatically reduced. The contributions of these churches provide a $2,000 scholarship per semester for each full-time student who joins and attends a local partner church.

 

Endoxa Honor Society

Students with outstanding academic achievement are invited to become members of the prestigious Endoxa Honor Society. As well as the honor of membership, members also benefit from significant scholarship awards. A student must maintain a GPA of 3.6 in consecutive semesters and be nominated by a member of the Boston Baptist College faculty for consideration for induction.  Posted guidelines must be maintained in order to continue membership and benefits.  Members of the Endoxa Honor Society receive a $1,000 scholarship per semester.

 

Dr. Harry Boyle Scholarship for Ministry Dependents

In honor of Chancellor Harry Boyle, $1,000 scholarships per semester are available to the dependent son or daughter of:

 

Baptist Bible Fellowship pastors whose churches are currently listed in the BBFI directory; Paid, full-time pastoral staff of said churches; and Baptist Bible Fellowship missionaries and evangelists. 

 

Qualifying dependents must meet all other admission requirements. The scholarship will be applied during the final month of each semester. Students failing to complete a semester will not receive the scholarship or any portion thereof. Recipients must maintain a 2.0 semester GPA during the freshman year and a 2.5 semester GPA thereafter to remain eligible. A satisfactory Christian service grade must be recorded each semester. All funds from any other financial aid program will be applied before the scholarship will be credited. 

 

AWANA Scholarships

A $6,000 plus* one study trip abroad for Citation Award recipients.This scholarship is awarded over eight semesters at $750 per semester.  

 Criteria:

Must be a full time, on campus student

Must maintain a 2.5 GPA

Verification from AWANA Headquarters

Once forfeited, scholarship can not be reinstated

Study Trip abroad includes airfare and primary lodging.

One trip per recipient in their first year

A $3,000 plus* one study trip abroad for Meritorious Award recipients. This scholarship is awarded over eight semesters at $375 per semester.

Criteria: 

Must be a full time, on campus student

Must maintain a 2.5 GPA

Verification from AWANA Headquarters

Once forfeited, scholarship can not be reinstated

Study Trip abroad includes airfare and primary lodging.

One trip per recipient in their first year

 

LIFT Student Ministries Scholarship

This $3,000 scholarship is awarded over a 4 year period to students, chosen at a college representative’s discretion, who participate in the ministry events at a LIFT camp.  Year 1- $1,000, Year 2 - $750, Year 3 - $750, Year 4 - $500

Criteria: 

High School Juniors, Seniors, and Current Year Grads

Participation in preaching and teaching events at a LIFT camp

Chosen at discretion of a College Representative

No Repeat Scholarship recipients

Must be an on campus full-time student

Must maintain a 2.0 GPA as well as a satisfactory church service rating

Scholarship will be forfeited if student is on academic or disciplinary probation

Scholarship is Non-transferable

 

Word of Life Bible Institute Scholarship (WOLBI)

A $6,000 scholarship granted to students who are Certificate holders from Word of Life Bible Institute.  This scholarship is awarded over six semesters at the rate of $1,000 per semester.

 

Boston Alumni Scholarship

The Boston Baptist College Trustee Alumni Scholarship is available to previous graduates in Biblical Studies who are seeking bachelor degree completion. The scholarship amount is equal to one-third of the applicable tuition not to exceed $1,000 per semester.

 

Al Ashton Memorial Scholarship

The Al Ashton Memorial Scholarship is presented annually to a Youth Ministry minor who has exhibited both aptitude and passion for evangelizing and serving in youth ministry.  The $500 scholarship is awarded by a vote of the faculty of Boston Baptist College to a student who has at least a 3.0 GPA, is serving in youth ministry while completing Bible college, and who shows leadership and faithfulness.

 

Mr. Ashton was a Navy Seal who sacrificed in the service of his country.  He came to know the Lord in the last days of his life as he was dying of cancer.  Upon his death, Mr. Ashton left a financial legacy to his family asking that they use that inheritance to get the gospel to the young people of America.

 

Garrett Johnston Ministry Scholarship

The Garrett Johnston Ministry Scholarship is bestowed annually to a Youth Ministry minor who has a passion for reaching youth with gospel of Christ. The $500 scholarship is awarded by a vote of the faculty of Boston Baptist College to a student who has at least a 3.0 GPA, is serving in youth ministry while completing Bible college, and who shows leadership and faithfulness.

 

Mr. Johnston began working with the youth of The First Baptist Church of East Longmeadow, MA while attending Boston Baptist College and served the Lord there for almost 20 years. He graduated from Boston Baptist College in 1989.

 

Bill Britt Mission’s Scholarship

The Bill Britt Mission’s scholarship is given annually to a student who has demonstrated obedience to God’s Word in relation to world evangelism. The scholarship is awarded by a vote of the faculty of Boston Baptist College to a student who has in tangible ways ministered the gospel to multiple people groups.

 

Mr. Britt graduated from Boston Baptist College in 1983 and went to Zambia to serve sacrificially and share the gospel. He died while serving the Lord there in Zambia in 1998.

 

Presidential Scholarship

Presidential Scholarships are available each year.  This scholarship is granted to students, chosen at the discretion of the college, who have exhibited extraordinary character in such a way as to have positively impacted the lives of others in meaningful ways. The amount of this scholarship varies up to several thousands of dollars per year. This scholarship is awarded over a one year period at the rate of 50% per semester.

 

Boston Leadership Scholarship

Boston Leadership Scholarships are available each year and are awarded to students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership capability. These students, chosen at the discretion of the college, must have a proven leadership history that exhibits an ability to positively impact college and church ministries while maintaining an exemplary academic level. The amount of this scholarship varies up to several thousands of dollars per year. This scholarship is awarded over a one year period at the rate of 50% per semester.

 

Boston Academic Scholarship

Boston Academic Scholarships are available each year and are awarded to students who have proven through grades, class standing, and test scores that they have the ability to excel in the challenging academic environment of Boston Baptist College. We desire to reward those students who have shown that they rank with the academic elite and hold the potential to make a constructive contribution to our world. The amount of this scholarship varies up to several thousands of dollars per year. This scholarship is awarded over a one year period at the rate of 50% per semester.
